Sportsbooks offering a good sized slate of NBA betting opportunities for Friday and we’ll take a look at a matchup between East and West as the Dallas Mavericks head to Atlanta for a game against the Hawks.  Mavs are in 4th place in the Western Conference, 1/2 game behind Utah while Atlanta is tied with Boston for third place in the East.

Dallas Mavericks at Atlanta Hawks

The Mavs upgraded their lineup for a playoff run at the trade deadline by acquiring Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood from Washington.  It wasn’t the sort of trade that gets the lead story on ‘Sportscenter’ but is one that upgraded Dallas defensively while enhancing their toughness.  Heading into this sports betting matchup they’ve won five straight games with their new lineup including a home victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.  The addition of Butler and Haywood also cause matchup problems for Atlanta, and with this being the first time facing the retooled Mavs the Hawks could have difficulty making the adjustment.

Dallas has been a very good road investment this season with a 18-12 SU/17-13 ATS mark.  Hawks slumping somewhat immediately after the All Star Break, with only 3 pointspread covers in their last eleven games.  Hawks won at Dallas earlier this year, but with a new lineup that will cause trouble for their hosts and a solid road record the Mavs will return the favor tonight at Phillips Arena.
