NFL betting players will be treated to a very physical matchup on Sunday, when AFC North-leading Cincinnati will host Chicago, who are coming off a very tough loss.

Bears vs Bengals odds – Sunday, October 25, 4:15 PM ET

The Bears committed three turnovers in a 21-14 loss to Atlanta on Sunday night, two of which came off of picks by Jay Cutler. The young star also 27-of-43 for 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but it shows he and his receivers still aren’t totally on the same page. The defense did their job, holding the Falcons to 253 yards, but the mistakes, which also includes nine penalties, was too much for them to overcome. The Bears only managed 83 yards on the ground, and until Cutler and his receivers are used to each other, they’ll need a running game.

Cincinnati had no answer for the Houston offense in a 28-17 loss, allowing the Texans to roll for 472 yards. The Bengals had 296 yards and three turnovers, and they held the ball for just under 24 minutes. Carson Palmer was 23-of-35 for 259 yards, one touchdown and a pick, and Chad Ochocinco caught five passes for 103 yards, but the Bengals had a paltry 46 yards on the ground. As we pointed out above, a running game is essential to a team’s NFL odds as a good horse is to its racebook odds.

The Bengals are a slight 1.5-point favorite in your handicapping software, and these two have split two meetings since 2001, with the visiting team winning both times. Cincinnati played their worst game of the season, but there was due to be a letdown after big wins for Green Bay, Pittsburgh and Baltimore. The Bengals were brought back down to earth against the Texans, and you can bet that their defense will be all over Cutler and the Chicago offense, which didn’t look too healthy against Atlanta despite Cutler’s 300-yard day. It’ll be a hard-hitting smashmouth kind of game that will be low-scoring, but the Bengals’ defense will be the difference. Take Cincy in your NFL picks.
