While most of the online betting world is focused on the gambling ring story with women’s tennis player Caroline Wozniak today and the possible indictment/arrest/prison sentence of Tom Cable, but these are all extraneous activities. Let’s focus on the positive NFL betting stories of the week, such as the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers contest in London, England.

The Buccaneers should be a little worried since they are 0-6 already and they lose one of their home games on the year. For New England, they were expecting a road game but for Tampa, they lose one.

The Bucs should also be worried because they are facing a team that won 59-0 last week, as crazy as that sounds. The Bucs may in fact be worse than the Tennessee Titans, which should be a big concern for them if they want to less by less than 50 points.

In England, look for New England to put on quite the show for the audience.

New England Patriots vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

BetOnline.com odds: Patriots -14.5

The New England Patriots faced one of the worst teams in the AFC last week when they hammered the 0-6 Tennessee Titans 59-0 and now they face one of the worst teams in the NFC this week as they face the 0-6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bucs have been simply pathetic this year and there have been plenty of reasons for it. The Bucs don’t have a capable quarterback, their run defense is brutal and their passing offense has given up the most passing plays of 40 yards or longer.

That last feat should be their biggest problem this week as Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker come to town. Through the first part of the season, Brady really struggled to get in rhythm with his receivers but last week he threw for six touchdowns in the snow, which gives a good indication that he’s back on track.

On top of that, one of the hidden keys to the Pats win was the fact that they were able to run the ball well with Laurence Maroney. Maroney finished with 123 yards on 16 carries with a 45-yard touchdown. Last week, Tampa Bay allowed more than 250 rushing yards to the Carolina Panthers, which again is not a good omen.

The Pats will role, scoring 50+ for a second week in a row.

NFL picks: Patriots -14.5
