Very short slate of action at the sportsbooks today with only six ‘main board’ college hoop games open for wagering.  The NHL is on their Winter Olympic break and the NBA won’t return to action until Tuesday.  There is one attractive college basketball betting position in Big 12 action between Kansas and Texas A&M.  Jayhawks ranked #1 in college hoops, while Aggies are also having a solid season with a 18-6 SU mark.

Winning on the road isn’t easy at the higher levels of college basketball, and even more difficult is winning by a sizable margin on the road.  Jayhawks are a very good team, but expecting them to go into the home gym of a 18-6 Texas A&M team and win by more than 8 points is a pretty tall order.  Kansas only 10-11 ATS overall this season, and are a ho-hum 3-4 ATS on the road.  They’ve failed to bring home the bacon in 3 of their L4 games and are a lackluster 4-5 ATS in Big 12 play.  Texas A&M, meanwhile, has been one of those teams that fly under the radar somewhat of both online betting bookmakers and the betting public.  Aggies are 12-8 ATS overall, 5-4 ATS at home and 6-4 in Big 12 play.  They’ll enter this game having won and covered four straight games and with an impressive 6-3 ATS mark as an underdog.

Jayhawks have done well at this venue winning 6 straight and covering 4, but its hard to argue with the logic of going against the ‘public’ by fading the #1 team in the country.  That’s an even more attractive position when you’re going against a decent sized road favorite in a tough venue against a talented team.  Aggies will make this a game throughout.
