The San Diego Chargers have been arguably one of the best teams in the NFL over the past half decade or so as they play extremely well on both sides of the football, but unlike many other of the league’s best teams, Norv Turner’s squad always seems to get off to slow start every single year.

This season the Chargers lost five of their first eight games of the season and it seemed like more of the same in San Diego, but after three straight wins they have started to turn the corner once again and have become one of the best teams in the league, especially on the offensive side of the football.

In Week 12, the San Diego Chargers will face arguably their toughest test of the season against the Indianapolis Colts and even though they are a bit banged up at wide receiver right now, Philip Rivers and company will get another key piece to the puzzle back on the field in Pro Bowl wideout Vincent Jackson.

Even though he hasn’t played a single down this season as he has been holding out for a new contract to cash in on his impressive season last year, Jackson is amongst the best wide receivers in the league, but is he worth picking up and putting in your starting lineup from here on out?

With Vincent Jackson holding out for a payday, the Chargers have had to go to up and coming wide receiver Malcolm Floyd and so far the results have been very good as quarterback Philip Rivers has quickly turned into a legitimate contender for NFL MVP, but with Jackson back Floyd’s should get even better as the Pro Bowl wide receiver will most likely be nothing more than a decoy in the next couple of weeks as he gets back to game shape.

I would say the smart move would be to pickup Vincent Jackson if he is still available in your fantasy football league, but I wouldn’t start him just yet as we will have to see what kind of shape he is in over the next two games.
