In a conference call with UFC President Dana White he told the media that the first UFC/WEC fight would be Jose Aldo defending his belt. It looks like the first WEC/UFC fight has been moved up. At the Finale for The Ultimate Fighter TV series Leonard Garcia will be facing Tyler Toner. We are hearing the fight will be at the 145lb weight class.

Leonard Garcia (14-6-1) is no stranger to the Octagon. He went one and three in the UFC in 2007 dropping 2 of 3 in the lightweight division. For a long time fighters didn’t want to drop down to 145 because it would mean they would fight in the WEC. The WEC fight purses were much less lucrative then the UFC purses. His fights were exciting, but when he stepped up to fight tougher competition he didn’t seem to be able to win.

Tyler Toner (11-2) , the Colorado native, fought in the Ring Of Fire for close to 4 years before coming to the WEC in early 2010. So far he is 1 for 2 in the promotion, dropping a unanimous decision to Diego Nunes at WEC 51.

It is unknown where on the card this fight will take place, because the contenders and winners for the TV show have not been decided. The three fights we do know are as follows:

Light Heavyweight bout: Stephan Bonnar vs. Igor Pokrajac (main event)

Middleweight bout: Kendall Grove vs. Demian Maia (co-main event)

Welterweight bout: Johny Hendricks vs. Rick Story

The TV portion of the card will be on SpikeTV, and the fights will take place on December 4, 2010
