Sportsbook back in the baseball betting business on Monday, and with not much else on the board due to the NCAA hoop final we’ll focus on that.  The San Francisco Giants head to Houston to face the Astros in their opening game.  Houston will send veteran Roy Oswalt to the hill while the visitor will counter with Tim Lincecum.

San Francisco Giants (Tim Lincecum) at Houston Astros (Roy Oswalt)

Tim Lincecum is a character, but he’s also one hell of a good pitcher.  He’s the only player in baseball history to win the Cy Young Award in both of his first two seasons in the majors, and he’ll anchor a very solid Giants’ rotation along with Matt Cain and lefty Barry Zito.  Roy Oswalt isn’t the pitcher he once way, and the Giants have hit him hard in recent meetings.  The Giants were a solidly profitable team in 2009 (88-74 +13 units) while Houston lost money overall (-9.1 units) and against righthanders (-8.2 units).  The Astros biggest problem was their offense which simply didn’t produce enough runs to win.  Houston averaged 4.0 runs per game overall, and just 3.9 against right handers.  They’re facing one of the best in the game here, and we’ll gladly back the Giants with Lincecum on the hill at a reasonable price.  Giants won 4 of 6 from Houston last year, and they could do better than that in 2010.

Bet San Francisco (Lincecum) -125 over Houston (Oswalt)
