MLB Betting Free Picks: NY Yankees @ LA Angels
Added on Apr 23, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Full slate of baseball betting action for online betting on Friday and we’ll focus on an American League matchup between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels. Angels have underachieved somewhat this year after posting one of the best records in baseball a year ago. Yankees off to a strong start, though they’re a 1/2 game behind red hot Tampa Bay.
New York Yankees (A.J. Burnett) at Los Angeles Angels (Ervin Santana)

Yankees in great form early on, posting an 11-4 record to date. Angels have run hot and cold–they lost their previous two games but before that had won 6 of 7. We’re expecting them to regain their top level form sooner rather than later and will be looking for good opportunities to play on them until prices catch up. Both pitchers coming off of impressive starts–AJ Burnett has been consistently solid so far this year, but was exceptional in his last start pitching 7 innings of shutout baseball against Texas. Much like the Angels as a team, Santana got off to a slow start this year but looked very sharp in his last start with a complete game 4 hit, 1 ER outing against Toronto.
This has been a very evenly contested series over the past couple of years with the Angels winning 15 of the last 29 games. Last season the teams split 10 games. LA has been very strong at home in these matchups, winning 11 of the last 15 on their field. We’ll back the home team at a nice value price here and look for additional opportunities to play them throughout the series.
Bet Los Angeles Angels (Santana) +115 over New York Yankees (Burnett)
