This game was originally slated for Monday baseball betting action, but was rained out.  Sportsbooks will be offering it on Tuesday and the pitching matchup will remain the same.

We’ll take a look at an American League contest between the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers.  The White Sox have stumbled out of the gate with a 15-22 record and are 8 games out of first place in the AL Central.  The Tigers have been playing fairly well, and are in second place just 1.5 games back of the Minnesota Twins.

White Sox were expected to contend in the AL Central, but are something of a mess right now.  They enter this game having lost 6 of their last 10, and have struggled on the road with a 6-12 record.  Their road struggles are a problem in this matchup, as Detroit has been very strong on their home field this year.  Tigers are 14-5 +9.2 units at Comerica Park, and should be able to pad that record even more in this series.

Pitching matchup is pretty much a wash in our view–the White Sox’s Freddy Garcia has a reasonably acceptable overall ERA at 4.75 but has a 7.31 ERA on the road.  Rick Porcello has a 6.08 ERA overall but is 3-0 with a 3.86 ERA at home.  Overall, the Tigers are the much better team at this point and with their strong form at home against the White Sox’s struggles on the road we’ll gladly lay the price on Detroit in this matchup.

Bet Detroit (Porcello) -140 over Chicago White Sox (Garcia)
