MLB Betting Free Picks: Colorado @ Washington
Added on Apr 19, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks offering a short card of baseball betting action for Monday, but we’ll take a look at a National League matchup between the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies. Both teams are 6-6 so far this season which is a good thing for the Nats and a disappointing start for the Rockies.
Colorado Rockies (Aaron Cook) at Washington Nationals (Craig Stammen)

We’ve cashed a couple of nice underdog winners early on backing the Nationals, and we’ll continue to look for opportunities to bet on them as the season progresses. This, however, isn’t one of them. Nationals had a tough time of it on Sunday, giving up 10 first inning runs en route to an 11-7 loss to Milwaukee. On the plus side, they outscored the Brewers 7-1 over the final 8 innings. Craig Stammen has struggled this year and in all fairness that’s to be expected when you’ve faced the Philadelphia Phillies twice. Colorado is historically a much better team at home than on the road, but there’s no doubt they can hit which doesn’t bode well for a short term reversal in Stammen’s fortunes. The Rockies were expected to contend for a postseason spot, and they’ll be looking to put some wins in the books against a team they’ve dominated in recent years. Colorado has won 10 of the last 13 meetings overall including the last six in Washington. We’ll take the road team at a reasonable price to continue their domination.
Bet Colorado (Cook) -145 over Washington (Stammen)
