Sportsbooks offering a number of attractive online sports betting positions for Wednesday, and we’ll take a look at a National League game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Houston Astros. Astros have been in awful form lately, but took the first game of the series with St. Louis on Tuesday and now have an actual two game winning streak heading into this contest.

Everyone is aware of the pitiful offensive performance of the Houston Astros this season. They did put up 6 runs on Tuesday, but heading into the St. Louis series the Astros were hitting a lowly .204 on the road and averaging 2.1 runs per game. What may be less well known is that St. Louis isn’t exactly knocking the cover off the ball either, and particularly against left handed pitching. Cards hitting .259 overall on the season averaging 4.4 runs per game, but have scored only 4.1 per game against southpaws. Wandy Rodriguez is coming off a couple of bad outings, but he’s a very solid pitcher and could be poised for a strong performance against St. Louis.
Kyle Lohse has been up and down this season, but has put up good numbers in his home outings with a 2.70 ERA. He’s also got a 2.73 ERA against Houston throughout his career. We’ve got some interest in the road underdogs, but we don’t trust their bets. A better bet is the Under–in addition to the obvious case for a low scoring game due to the offensive issues outlined above, the series has been an Under dominated affair despite Tuesday’s game playing Over. 24 of the last 33 games overall including 16 of the last 19 in St. Louis have gone Under the total. Rodriguez has gone Under in 9 of his last 13 starts against St. Louis, while Lohse has gone Under in 7 of 10 starts against the Astros.
