Online betting sites will have a full compliment of baseball betting opportunities for Wednesday, and of particular interest is a National League game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves. Phils have come back to earth after a torrid start, and have lost four of their last 5. Braves going in the other direction, winning five of their last six.
Philadelphia Phillies (Roy Halladay) at Atlanta Braves (Tim Hudson)

Braves’ winning run is no fluke, but we’re going to use this game as an opportunity to back Phillies’ ace Roy Halladay at a reasonable price. He’s shown no problems whatsoever adjusting to his new team and has looked dominant in the early going. Halladay will enter this contest with a 3-0 record and a 1.12 ERA. He’s pitched an average of 8 innings per start including one complete game. Tim Hudson has pitched well this year, with a 2.84 ERA but is only 4-6 against Philadelphia during his career. Phillies also hit the ball much better than Atlanta, scoring on average 1.3 runs per game more than the Braves. Halladay has only faced the Braves once in his career, but the result was encouraging despite a tough luck loss–he went 7 innings allowing 5 hits and no earned runs while striking out six. Philadelphia has gotten the best of Atlanta in head to head play in recent years and will enter this game on a 22-15 series run. They’ve done very well at Turner Field during that timeframe, posting a 13-6 record for 8.1 units of profit. Ultimately, however, its a chance to back arguably the best pitcher in baseball at the moment at what could be the most reasonable price we’ll get all year.
Bet Philadelphia (Halladay) -140 over Atlanta (Hudson)
