Sportsbooks offering a full slate of baseball betting for Wednesday, and we’ll go back to the National League as the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals continue their series.  Last night’s play on St. Louis was a tough luck loss as Adam Wainwright pitched a great game, but got no help from his teammates who were shut down by Cole Hamels.

St. Louis Cardinals (Brad Penny) at Philadelphia (Kyle Kendrick)
May 5, 4:05 PM Pacific

Same basic concept as yesterday, as we’ll back the Cardinals against the Phillies at home.  Brad Penny has looked very sharp this year with a 1.56 ERA overall and a 1.25 ERA on the road.  His team has also won his last three starts against Philadelphia.  Kyle Kendrick, meanwhile, has struggled in the early going with the Phillies losing four of his first five starts.  He’s got a 7.60 ERA overall with a 13.49 ERA in two home starts.

We’ll remind you once again that the Phillies weren’t an overly dominant home team last season, and lost 14.5 units against right handers at Citizens Bank Park.  They’re only 6-5 at home this year, so it could be more of the same.  In any case, we’ll take the team that has been playing the better baseball more consistently this season and is starting the pitcher in the better form.  Hopefully the Cards’ bats will show up this time around.

Bet St. Louis (Penny) -114 over Philadelphia (Kendrick)
