Online Sports Betting Free Picks: Cleveland @ Chicago
Added on Apr 05, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks don’t have much on the board for Monday other than the NCAA hoop final, but we’ll take a look at opening day baseball betting action. Baseball is perhaps my favorite sport to bet on since there are so many different strategies you can use to make money. Of course one effective strategy in any sport is to find a superior team at a reasonable price and that is what we’re doing in this play.
Cleveland Indians (Jake Westbrook) at Chicago White Sox (Mark Buehrle)

Indians were one of the biggest money losers in baseball last season. Their 65-97 performance cost bettors a whopping 32.1 units! The Tribe lost ground again in the 2009 off season, and new manager Manny Acta will be hard pressed to improve upon last season’s record. Cleveland’s offense can hit with anyone, but their pitching staff is a mess. The White Sox, meanwhile, look to have improved and could be a playoff contender assuming newly acquired Jake Peavy stays healthy. If he does, they’ll have an excellent starting rotation anchored by Buehrle, Peavy and John Danks. The White Sox are a pretty good hitting team themselves, and they’ve beaten Westbrook the last three times they’ve faced him. Assuming the prices on Cleveland are reasonable throughout this series we’ll back the Tribe and expect no worse than 2 of 3 with a sweep a strong possibility.
Bet Chicago WS (Buehrle) -155 over Cleveland (Westbrook)
