Things will be a little calmer at online betting sites on Monday after a frenetic weekend, but there’s still plenty of action on the board including this NHL betting opportunity between the Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings.  The teams split the first two games of the series in Vancouver, and now they head to Los Angeles for games 3 and 4.

We said before the series that the Kings were a tough matchup for Vancouver.  Los Angeles is a bunch of ‘grinders’ and are adept at taking Vancouver out of their preferred style of play.  Furthermore, the Kings’ style is perfect for playoff hockey.  After splitting the first two games in Vancouver, the Kings should have a lot of confidence as the series shifts to their Staples Center home ice.  The teams played twice in L.A. during the regular season, with the Canucks taking a 2-1 victory early in the campaign and the Kings responding with an 8-3 rout late in the year.  The Canucks have done a credible job this series in limiting the number of shots on goal that Roberto Luongo faces.  That was perhaps the team’s biggest problem in the regular season, but a scrappy team like the Kings are adept at finding ways to make opportunities and take advantage of what the opponent gives them to work with.  Vancouver wasn’t a very good road team during the regular season–their 20 regulation time losses away from GM Place is the most of any playoff team in the West and third most of any playoff bound team in the league.  We’ll back the home team here.
