The Jackets are out of the playoff hunt in the brutally tough Western Conference, but they’re far from being a doormat.  They enter this contest with a winning record on the year and a solid 25-12-3 mark on home ice.  Washington doesn’t really have much to play for until the postseason begins.  They’re 2-3 in their last five games with both wins coming by a single goal.  Tough game for the Caps to get up for with a home game against Boston and a road game with second place Pittsburgh on deck.  As has been the case in many of the Caps’ recent games this is a more significant matchup for the home team who want to finish strong and will play with pride on their home ice.  We’re getting a nice price on a solid home team, and the Blue Jackets have won the last three meetings with Washington.
