Easy NBA winner on Saturday night as the Utah Jazz made short work of the Philadelphia 76ers, and we’ve got another game on Sunday’s card that is a similar setup and handicap.  The Indiana Pacers head to Miami to face Dwayne Wade and the Heat.  Miami has played reasonably well this year, but are currently in 5th place in the Eastern Conference behind the logjam at the top between Boston, Cleveland, Orlando and Atlanta.

The NBA’s Eastern Conference has been a case of the ‘haves’ vs. the ‘have nots’ this season.  Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland and Orlando are all within 2 1/2 games of each other in the battle for first place.  They’ve dominated the rest of the conference, leaving Miami the only other team in the East with a winning record.  This game is a similar NBA betting spot as our play on Utah last night, as it is the only ‘easy’ game for the Heat on the schedule for the near future.  5 of their next 8 games are on the road, and two of their three home games in that span are against Boston and Atlanta.

Indiana has been a horrible underdog this season, failing to cover in 11 of their last 14 assignments in the role.  This is the second of back to back games, with the Pacers losing at home to Atlanta last night.  The Pacers are without their best player, Danny Granger.  The Heat easily beat Indiana on the road back in late October, and that was *with* Granger in the lineup.  The Heat don’t have the dominant home floor that the Jazz do, but with that exception its a very similar online betting situation:  Miami needs to get the wins where they can in a tough stretch of games and they face an opponent they should have no trouble with at a surprisingly reasonable price.
