Good sized NBA betting card on tap for Friday night, and we’ve got a position that you can take to the bank at your favorite sportsbook. The San Antonio Spurs head east to take on the Charlotte Bobcats. The Spurs are currently tied with Denver for 3rd place in the Western Conference, while the Bobcats are trying to hang on to a playoff spot at 7th place in the East.
San Antonio Spurs at Charlotte Bobcats
January 15, 4:05 PM Pacific
Both teams in good form at the moment with the Spurs on a three game winning streak having won 15 of 19 SU. Charlotte has won two straight and five of six games despite the dramatic disparity in their home/away performance. At home, the Bobcats are 14-4 SU and 11-7 ATS. On the road, they’re 3-15 SU. Obviously they have to continue to take advantage of their strong home court if they want to make the playoffs this season.
The Bobcats have been a solid ATS team all year (22-14 ATS overall) and enter this game having covered 8 of their last 11 contests. This is due in large part to head coach Larry Brown’s emphasis on defense, reflected in the Bobcats #1 ranking in team defense. They’re starting to play better on the offensive end as well, making fewer mistakes and turning the ball over less. Gerald Wallace has become one of the NBA’s top rebounders, so Tim Duncan will have some competition in the paint. The scheduling situation also favors the home team. Charlotte has been idle since Tuesday’s home win over Houston while this will be the Spurs’ third game in four days. Look for the tough home team to win outright and at this price that’s all we need them to do.
Bet Charlotte +2 over San Antonio
