In one of the most anticipated match-ups this weekend WBO Featherweight Champion Juan Manuel Lopez of Caguas, Puerto Rico is set to take on the always durable Orlando Salido of Sonora, Mexico. Lopez will be putting his title and unbeaten record on the line in his native land as the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico plays host to the 12 round championship tilt. The chief supporting bout of tomorrow nights event will pit undefeated Luis Cruz against Martin Honorio in a 10 round junior lightweight showdown. Among those who attended today’s weigh ins were Mexican ring legends Marco Antonio Barrera and “El Gran Campeon”, Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr. For fans of the sweet science that aren’t able to catch this one ringside it will be televised on Showtime at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast).
