NBA Betting: Houston @ Charlotte

Two teams that have been profitable NBA betting investments meet up in Charlotte at the hometown Bobcats host the Houston Rockets. Charlotte is currently in 7th place in the Eastern Conference despite a losing record at 16-19. Houston is trying to hold on to 7th place in the Western Conference where they’re tied with Oklahoma City and only 1/2 game ahead of 9th place Utah.

Both teams have been very good for sports betting this season. Charlotte boasts a 21-14 pointspread record while the Rockets are 21-16 ATS. Unlike many of their Eastern Conference counterparts, the Bobcats have covered five of six against the West, though they’re only 2-4 SU. Houston, conversely, is only 3-5 ATS against the East but are 5-3 SU. They’ve feasted on the Southeast Division in recent years with a 16-6 ATS mark over the past three seasons. Charlotte is 17-35 ATS all time against the Southwest Division.

Houston is 11-8 ATS as an underdog and 8-5 ATS against teams with losing records. They’ve covered 12 of their last 18 games against sub 500 teams. Charlotte has played well at home this year (13-4 SU) but Houston is a solid road team (10-12 SU). Ultimately, this is another one of the spots where we’ll back the team from the stronger Western Conference against their relatively weaker Eastern counterparts. With the Western Conference embroiled in what will be a year long battle for playoff spots and seedings, Houston can’t afford not to take games like this seriously. Rockets win outright as small underdogs.
