NBA Betting Free Picks: Boston @ Miami
Added on Apr 25, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks offering a full slate of NBA betting opportunities for Sunday, and we’ll take a position in an Eastern Conference matchup as the Boston Celtics go for the sweep against the Miami Heat. Boston had no trouble with the Heat in winning the first two games of the series at the TD BankNorth Garden, and held off a determined Miami effort in game 3 to go up 3-0.

Dwayne Wade has been upgraded to ‘probable’ from ‘questionable’ for this game and every indication is he’ll play. Miami has been getting far too much respect from linesmakers throughout this series which has led to three Boston pointspread covers. We like the Celtics to make it 4 for 4 SU and against the spread today. Everyone knows that no NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a series, but even more significant here is the performance of teams down 3-0 in the first round–teams with home court advantage like the Celtics that win the first three games of an opening round series are 11-2 SU (84.6%) in game four. The recent head to head series history between the two teams doesn’t really help the case for Miami–Boston has won 13 of the last 14 meetings going 10-4 ATS. That includes a 6-1 SU/ATS mark at Miami. Pretty simple handicap here–Boston is the better team, has dominated the first three games of this series and head to head play in recent years. Every statistical metric suggests they’ll get the straight up win here and at this price that’s all we need them to do.
