NBA Betting Free Picks: Golden State @ Washington
Added on Apr 06, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks are now done with college basketball for the year and we can turn our attention to NBA betting. A couple of teams playing out the string meet in Washington, DC as the Golden State Warriors play the Wizards. The Warriors can move into 13th place in the West with a win here, while Washington is tied with Detroit for the second worst record in both the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA. The New Jersey Nets have claim to the cellar.
Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards

The Warriors have been playing reasonably competent basketball over the past week or so and have gone 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Wizards, on the other hand, have lost 8 of their last 10 and have been struggling to score points. Washington went 19 games without breaking 100 points, finally ended that streak against the New Jersey Nets in their last game. They should be able to do it again here, since Golden State isn’t much defensively. In fact, the Warriors are the worst points per game defensive team in the NBA.
The problem for the Wizards is that they can’t win a high scoring contest against Golden State. The Warriors can’t stop anyone from scoring, but they’re second in the league in points per game offensively. Washington ranks a lowly 26th in that category. In late season games between teams of this class there’s a big advantage if one has something to play for. The Warriors won their last game, which allowed head coach Don Nelson to tie Lenny Wilkens for the all time victory mark by a head coach. Nellie can break the record with a win here, and he’s well liked by his players who should put in a good effort to get him his victory. A reasonable effort is all it really takes to beat Washington these days, and we’ll lay the points with Golden State who despite their SU record has been a profitable pointspread team this season at 44-31 ATS.
Bet Golden State -2 over Washington
