Former Chicago Blackhawk, and now Dallas Star, Adam Burish has a sense of humor. He recently received an email through the Dallas Stars website, and it was about his game play. He was playing much to slow for the fan’s taste, and cost the Stars the game. This didn’t happen in any pre-season, or current season game. It happened in a EA Sports NHL 11. Here is the email:

Subject: #16 Adam BURISH

I was recently playing a game of EA Sports NHL 11. I was down by one goal against my friend, I was on a 2 on 0 and was impeded by #16 Adam Burish, and was unable to acheive a scoring opportunity, I ask that Adam Burish publicly apologizes to me for he had cost me that game of NHL 11. Thank you for you cooperation during this crisis.

Sincerely,

Alex

Instead of throwing it in the delete file in his email, the Stars right winger felt bad about it. He took it upon him self to respond. (Video Link: http://stars.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=541319 )

“Alex, hey, what’s up?! Sorry I ruined your game! Umm… You know what, though? When your guys are that slow, they get in my way, umm… So, who ever iss controlling them – I don’t know if it’s you or the computer – maybe you should have a talk with them.. Because they’re just in my way… the passes are in my skates… Um.. It was a mess out there! Get your guys going, get your guys skating a little bit so they get out of my way, alright? But, ya know, sorry I ruined the game. Talk to your guys next time!

In the time when players are getting suspensions for roughing, and attacking fans in the stands, its refreshing to see a player with a sense of humor about the game. Most players would file that in the “that fan is crazy” file, but Adam took 3 minutes, and probably made a hockey fan for life. A tip of the cap to Adam Burish!
