Jordan Eberle

Remember that part about how rookies in pro sports are supposed to struggle for awhile?  Edmonton Oilers’ rookie Jordan Eberle didn’t get the memo.  That 20 year old Eberle scored his first NHL goal in the season opener against the Calgary Flames is impressive enough, but to score that goal shorthanded definitely ups the ante.  And were *that* not enough, check out the video of this Ovechkin-esque goal where he makes Calgary’s Mikka Kiprusoff–who, by the way, is one of the best goalies in the NHL–look like a rec league backup.  Now Oilers’ fans will expect *every* goal he scores to be this sort of fronthand to backhand puck control clinic while he’s essentially skating sideways.
