The Super Bowl is a huge event in the sports betting world, but it may be an even bigger event for television and entertainment.  At least that’s the way it seems with the profusion of celebrities who’ll make an appearance at the game to sign songs, gladhand spectators or just plug their series.  The fact that Christina Aguilera is performing the National Anthem is well known, as is the halftime show by the Black Eyed Peas.  Most recently, Lea Michele–star of the hit Fox TV series “Glee” has been added to the lineup to sing ‘America the Beautiful’.  Presumably she’ll be performing her song as a prelude to the National Anthem itself. The comely 24 year old singer/actress will join an impressive list of performers who’ve done ‘America the Beautiful’ before the Super Bowl including Faith Hill, Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Marc Anthony, Ray Charles and Vicki Carr.  Based on that roster of talent the ‘America the Beautiful’ performance is a legitimate tradition for the big game. ‘Glee’ is one of the highest rated shows on television and will be featured immediately after the Super Bowl in the coveted ‘lead out’ spot.  The special episode of ‘Glee’ promises to feature borderline insanity including a performance of the Michael Jackson song ‘Thriller’.  I’m a grown man so obviously I don’t watch “Glee” but the show features a high school glee club–only with hot 20 something actresses playing high school students–and has all sorts of singing and dancing.  Doesn’t sound like anything that would get me to change the channel off of the TVG horse racing network, but I’ll gladly post pictures of Lea Michele from her GQ shoot of last year. As of yet, there’s not been any  Super Bowl betting propositions focused on Michele’s performance or the ‘Glee’ special episode but if a sportsbook decides to take action on either you’ll hear about it here first.
