Thursday’s sports betting menu takes us down south to Charlotte, NC where the Bobcats will host the Philadelphia 76ers.  Sixers brought home the bacon for us last night at Orlando and have been a much improved team under head coach Doug Collins.  Charlotte has also made considerable improvement since Paul Silas replaced Larry Brown as head coach, though it’s not really shown up in their W/L record yet.

We respect the Sixers improvement and praised their solid ATS performance in yesterday’s write up.  Sixers are 25-15 ATS overall.  They’re also 19-10 ATS as an underdog and despite a 5-16 SU road record they’re 13-8 against the number.   This is a bad scheduling spot for them, however, as they’re off a tough game at Orlando last night while Charlotte was idle.  Bobcats have been a pointspread monster since Silas took over as coach and enter this game having covered 7 of their last 8 games.  The biggest difference has been a change in tactics from the ‘defense first’ style of Larry Brown to a more uptempo game which looks to be a better fit for the talent on hand.  In addition, the Bobcats are healthier now than they’ve been all year.

These teams played in Philadelphia last week with the Sixers winning a hardfought game, but Charlotte taking the pointspread cover.  Bobcats currently on a 9-2 SU/8-3 ATS run against the Sixers on their home court, and their uptempo game could be even more problematic for a Philadelphia team that went to overtime against the Magic last night.  We look for the Bobcats to win and cover the number here.  5 Dimes has the game listed with Charlotte a -4′ point favorite and we’ll lay that price.
